Uzbek national airline “Uzbekistan Airways” plans to use the airport of the English city of Birmingham as an intermediate stop on flights to North America. Currently, the airline is in the final stages of negotiations with the Department for the environment, transport and the regions, UK (DETR). In the case of successful negotiations, the Uzbek airline will have the right to pick up passengers in Birmingham performing flights on the fifth degree of freedom.

Two Asian airlines have the right to perform flights on the fifth degree of freedom in the UK. Pakistan Pakistan International Airlines uses Manchester as an airport for its transatlantic flights. Indian, Air India has a stopover in London Heathrow on a flight to new York. Recall that some time ago a paragraph on the possibility of flights using the fifth freedom was included in the intergovernmental agreement between the UK and Azerbaijan.
