Two Uzbek airport (except Tashkent and Samarkand) became international is the airports of Bukhara and Urgench. International status involves the creation of the airports, border, customs, sanitary and veterinary control. At the moment the reconstruction of the three major regional airports of Uzbekistan, and for this purpose the Uzbek national airline “Uzbekistan Airways” on the basis of an agreement concluded between the governments of Uzbekistan and Japan, got credit target of 15 billion 526 million Japanese yen (141,1 mln.).
Currently in Bukhara, Samarkand and Urgench, reconstructed runways, buildings, passenger terminals, completed the second phase of work on further improvement of the infrastructure.
