Russia and Uzbekistan failed to agree on liberalization of air service

The delegations of aviation authorities of Russia and Uzbekistan failed to agree on several outstanding issues related to the organization of flights between the two countries. The appropriate Protocol of consultations held from February 28 to March 1, 2018 between representatives of the two countries published on the website Rosaviation. The negotiations concern including frequency of flights and open new destinations.

As noted by the Russian delegation, the number of flights between the two countries in 2014 decreased by almost half. So, according to the “Yearbook of the ATO,” in 2014, Uzbekistan occupied the eighth place in the regular flights between the countries, and in 2017, was moved to the 13th row. Russia intends to increase the volume of traffic between countries, in this connection, advocated the free choice of frequencies, whilst Uzbekistan insisted on the determination of the intensity of flights on contract airline.
