Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will resume flights

Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are planning to restore air service between the two countries, interrupted in 1992 with the beginning of the civil war in Tajikistan. The corresponding Protocol on cooperation between the aviation authorities was signed on 30 November, according to the website of the Ministry of transport of Tajikistan.

Originally intended to be the only flight on the route Dushanbe–Tashkent. The flights on this direction will begin in January 2017, according to the Agency Khovar, with reference to the head of Department of civil aviation Ministry of transport of Tajikistan Rahmon Yusuf. According to the signed Protocol on cooperation is expected to run flights connecting the two capitals, with a frequency of twice a week. From Tajikistan flights will carry Somon Air, and from the perspective of Uzbekistan — Uzbekistan Airways Aviakompania.
