In Uzbekistan the fifth freedom of the air is introduced from October 1 at the international airports in the administrative centers of Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya oblasts (viloyats) — Karshi (about 400 km South-West of Tashkent airport) and Bukhara (470 km southwest), respectively, as well as in Nukus (810 km North-West) — in the only airport of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Furthermore, the use of the fifth freedom of the air allowed for the carriage of foreign citizens in Bukhara (440 km South-West), the administrative center of Bukhara region.
The open skies regime will liberalize and facilitate the access and the terms of use of airports of Uzbekistan for foreign airlines, said the head of Department to promote the improvement of the transportation system of the state Committee of the Shahobiddin Vohidov.
