The passenger traffic of the national airline of Uzbekistan Uzbekistan Airways in 2018 was a record — carrier services used 3.2 million passengers. This is 17% higher than a year earlier, when it was transported 2.7 million passengers.
More than half of the passengers, namely of 1.91 million people have used the services of international airlines and selected destination countries abroad. Around 1.48 million passengers. had on flights to the CIS countries, 606 thousand people used the services of domestic airlines.
A quarter of the airline passenger traffic in 2018, made up of foreign nationals — mainly from the CIS countries. The main markets of passenger transportation for Uzbekistan Airways were Russia, Turkey, UAE, Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Korea. On the route from Uzbekistan to Russia Uzbekistan Airways has sold 33.5 thousand of tickets for citizens travelling with the purpose of temporary work in Russia.
